Reciprocal Golf - 1895 Club
Members of Pumpherston Golf Club benefit from courtesy on many great courses around the UK and a growing number around the world. This opportunity is arranged through a grouping of clubs that were all founded in 1895 and have banded together to provide their membership with the privilege of sampling each other's historic courses.
The 1895 Club concept was instigated by three Edinburgh based clubs whose centenary year coincided with each other. Nearly 40 other clubs have since joined the group, whose purpose is to foster relationships and offer reciprocal courtesy arrangements between members of participating clubs. Pumpherston members are entitled to play any of the courses below for FREE based on the following conditions:
1. Members can only visit clubs that are 75 miles or more away from their own club unless otherwise agreed.
2. Play will be restricted to one four-ball per club per day.
3. Visiting parties are responsible for making their own arrangements in advance but are required to obtain a form
from their Secretary, which has to be produced on arrival at the club being visited as means of identification.
4. The charge for play is at the discretion of the clubs – in most cases it is free – but members should confirm this
at the time of booking.
5. Visitors must comply with the dress rules laid down by the club that they are visiting.
6. This facility only applies to members of the 1895 Clubs and arrangements for other guests will be at the
discretion of the club being visited and these persons would have to pay a full visitor’s fee.
